The island-nation of Cabo Verde is set to be the 22nd member of the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO).

Cabo Verde, which is located across the western shores of Africa, acceded to the Lusaka Agreement, Banjul, and Harare Protocols and the treaties are expected to enter into force on July 6, 2022.

In related news, Cabo Verde also recently approved accession to the Madrid Protocol, the Patent Cooperation Treaty, the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property, and the Lisbon Agreement for the Protection of Appellations of Origin.
