The Lebanese Trademarks Office has introduced a key change to the procedure for recording trademark assignments. Rights holders are no longer required to submit the original registration certificate for endorsement when recording a transfer of ownership.

Going forward, a Power of Attorney and a Deed of Assignment will be sufficient for the Registrar to issue the confirmation of assignment. This amendment eases formalities, shortens processing times, and provides greater efficiency for trademark holders managing their portfolios in Lebanon.
