The Investment and Trade Court, established under Royal Decree No. 35/2025, has officially begun operations as of October 1, 2025. Operating under the supervision of the Supreme Judicial Council and based in Muscat, the court represents a significant step toward enhancing judicial specialization and efficiency in Oman.
The court holds exclusive jurisdiction over a wide range of commercial and investment-related matters, including:

Intellectual property disputes (patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and trade secrets)

Competition, anti-monopoly, and unfair trade practices

E-commerce and electronic transaction disputes

Public–private partnership (PPP) contracts

Investment, insolvency, and arbitration-related cases
Cases filed prior to October 1, 2025, will continue to be reviewed by the courts where they were originally submitted.
The establishment of this specialized court underscores Oman’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its judicial framework, expedite commercial dispute resolution, and reinforce investor confidence in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
