The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) reported the seizure of over 3.6 million products infringing the Trademark Law following more than 2,000 inspection visits in 51 cities and governorates. According to SAIP’s 2024 Annual Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement Report, 52 percent of the violations were in the clothing and footwear sector.

The report also noted the interception of 330 suspected customs shipments, preventing more than 6.7 million infringing products from entering the market. In the digital sphere, 7,900 websites were blocked for copyright violations in 2024, a 128 percent increase from 2023. SAIP further handled over 3,200 complaints related to copyright and trademark infringement.

These enforcement actions were highlighted during the Regional Conference on Intellectual Property Enforcement Practices and contributed to Saudi Arabia’s improved standing in international IP enforcement indices.
