Saudi Arabia’s Fashion Commission, in collaboration with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP), has issued a new Intellectual Property and Designers’ Rights Protection Guide to support the Kingdom’s growing fashion sector.
The guide offers practical advice on safeguarding the distinctive elements of fashion brands, such as logos, names, and trade dress, while highlighting the importance of trademarks in building brand identity, consumer trust, and long-term commercial value.
It also provides an overview of other IP protections relevant to the industry, including patents, industrial designs, and copyright, with a clear emphasis on trademark use and enforcement amid the sector’s rapid growth and increasing international visibility.
This initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering an IP-aware creative economy under Vision 2030, complementing recent reforms that have enhanced trademark registration and enforcement mechanisms.
