The Zanzibar Industrial Property Office (ZIPO), operating under the Zanzibar Business and Property Registration Agency (BPRA), has issued revised official fees for intellectual property services. The new schedule was published in the Zanzibar Government Gazette (Vol. CXXXIV No. 7369) on July 18, 2025, and will enter into force on August 11, 2025.

The amended fee structure affects a broad range of services, including trademarks, patents, industrial designs, and geographical indications. Increases range from 50 to 300 percent, depending on the service category. The revisions also introduce new fee items, including those related to mark association and hearings in opposition proceedings.

Applicants with pending matters are advised to settle official fees prior to the effective date, as the revised rates will apply to unpaid filings submitted before the implementation date.
