The Palestinian National Internet Naming Authority (PNINA) has launched the Sunrise phase of Arabic domain name registration on October 15, 2010. Registration in this phase is open to well-known companies, organizations and trademark holders and is expected to end on November 30, 2010. This phase will be followed by a Landrush (an open registration) phase which is scheduled to start on January 2, 2011. Applications received between November 30 and January 2 will not be considered.
All applications during the Landrush phase will be processed on equal basis and according to the first-come-first-serve principle through PNINA registrars.
The following documents will be required to file an Arabic domain name application corresponding to a trademark:
– Application form (Company’s name, address, contact person’s name, e-mail, telephone, mobile, fax, and DNS server)
– Certified copy of the corresponding home registration certificate of the mark.
It is worthy to note that local presence is required for the Sunrise phase only.
