The Iraqi Patent Office has recently announced that all requirements related to patent applications filed on or before June 14, 2010 be completed before January 14, 2011. Failure to submit missing documents by that date will result in the applications being abandoned.
We are aware of the sensitivities and complications such a request can cause and we regret the inconvenience. Please understand that patent registration procedures in Iraq are not streamlined and clear cut given the present situation.
In light of the above, Saba & Co. IP will be reviewing the files for all pending patents applications with incomplete records and will be notifying clients accordingly.
