Libya has introduced new regulations simplifying trademark filing requirements as of January 2024. Among the key updates, translations no longer need to be stamped by a local sworn translator, and the legalization of documents by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is no longer required. Previously submitted documents, such as Powers of Attorney (POA) and Certificates of Incorporation (COI), are also exempt from annual re-submission.
These changes aim to ease administrative processes for trademark applicants, making filings more efficient. As the regulatory environment in Libya continues to evolve, we will monitor developments closely and share updates as necessary.
