Sudan has recently taken proactive steps to maintain the continuity of trademark application processing despite challenges posed by current circumstances. Recognizing ongoing inaccessibility of the main office in Khartoum, Sudan has established a temporary Trademark Office to address these concerns.
This temporary office is now accepting a range of trademark applications, including new filings, renewals, and requests for recordals of mergers, assignments, and changes in name and/or address, but only serves as a pivotal hub for docketing purposes, ensuring that the application process remains on track. Situated in an area more accessible than the main TMO, it aims to streamline procedures and minimize disruptions, but will not undertake examination or processing of applications until the situation at the main TMO becomes clearer.
